Vice President of Construction
David Dean, vice president of Construction, earned a B.S. in Construction Management from Brigham Young University before beginning his career in the industry as a superintendent for a home builder and then an estimator for a utilities and infrastructure company.
He started as project manager for Blount in 2010, supporting the field team and managing multiple projects, but he moved up to estimator, providing budgets and estimates for projects before being promoted again.
As VP of Construction, David oversees and supports the operations team, manages costs to ensure profitability, and establishes and maintains relationships with clients. He feels most confident managing costs because of his ability to analyze and identify issues.
His biggest accomplishment at Blount was also one of their largest contracts: the Aviator Wind project in Texas, which consisted of erecting 191 wind turbines across a large site on an aggressive schedule. Finding solutions and delivering quality work give him satisfaction. He appreciates Blount’s vision and likes taking on new projects. The dedication of the entire team is part of the family feel he enjoys.
When not working, he enjoys spending time with his wife and four children, who relish outdoor activities like camping, hiking, and swimming.
